There are four steps to using Activity BarCoding

1. Scan the barcode sheets
2. Open the website and click “Load From Scanner” to load barcodes from scanner
3. Create referrals for first-time patients
4. Click "Submit Today" to submit the diary

Scanning barcode sheets:

To scan an IPA session

1. Scan the patient’s barcode at the beginning
2. Scan any interventions or supplies provided
3. Scan a location or clinical unit code if required
4. Scan stop when done

To scan a NIPA session

1. Scan an activity barcode
2. Scan any interventions or supplies provided
3. Scan a location or clinical unit code if required
4. Scan stop when done

To scan a research / teaching & training / management session

1. Scan the “Start Research” or “Start T&T” or “Start Management” barcode
2. Scan a location if required
3. Scan stop when done

Opening the website:

1. Navigate to the website
2. Enter your username & password
3. Select your health service, if required
4. Click Login
5. Click on “Load from Scanner”

Submission:

Submission makes your diary available for reporting. It means you’re finished editing it.

1. Click “Submit Today” on the left hand side of the screen
2. Sessions with validation warnings will not be submitted. You will need to individually submit these sessions.
3. Click on any unsubmitted sessions
4. Click “Submit”
